The SRCHA has formed a Humane Treatment Committee. This committee consists of Barry Clemens, Gary Shinkewski, Roger Johnson, Darlene Tingtved, and Katie Eckert. These members are responsible for overseeing the humane treatment of all livestock at SRCHA functions. If a member has any questions regarding the ethical treatment of livestock please contact one or more of these committee members and they will follow the appropriate procedures according to the Humane Treatment Policies outlined in the SRCHA rule book.


ENTRY FEES

ENTRY FEES for SRCHA events are set as a flat fee to include both the herd-work and working cow horse (dry work + fence work) classes in each respective division with a portion of each entry fee being paid into the jackpot for that class to be paid out at the end of the event. If the rider enters just one class they will pay the full fee regardless the fee is used for one run of EACH of herd-work and working cow horse only. However, it is allowed, if indicated at time of entry, to ride in herd-work on one day and do the working cow horse portion on the other day for the same set fee, if used for the same horse/rider combination at the same weekend event.

General Entry fees for all regular jackpot shows will be as follows in addition to NEW Cattle Surcharge, which will be determined & listed on an individual basis for each show:

3 yr old Snaffle Bit $165 ($60 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
4-5 yr old Snaffle Bit/Hackamore $165 ($60 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
Open Bridle Horse $165 ($60 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
Non-Pro Rider $165 ($60 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
Limited Non-Pro Rider $165 ($60 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
Intermediate Non-Pro Rider $165 ($60 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
Novice Horse $165 ($60 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)

Novice Non-Pro Rider $135 ($40 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
Rein-Box Class $135 ($40 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)
Novice Rein-Box Class $135 ($40 to jackpot/$10 office fees/$5 Dead-cow fund)

Youth $90 ($20 to jackpot/ $10 office fee)

*note that SRCHA competitions will no longer be requiring competitors to use show-numbers at our events.

 

These patterns are used for ALL divisions EXCEPT the youth 10-13 division which will have modified patterns without flying lead changes.

NRCHA judges cards are used at all SRCHA Shows, and are posted after the class for exhibitors to review:
- Cow Work Judges Card
- Herd Work Judges Card
- LTD Cow Work Judges Card
- Reined Work Judges Card

 

YOUTH Rider 10-13: herd / rein (modified NRCHA pattern - no flying lead changes) / limited cow work (boxing)

YOUTH RIDER 14-18: herd / rein (NRCHA patterns)/ fence

REIN/BOX: open to all levels of non pro riders, and also to 'professional riders with money earnings in reined cow horse'; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / limited cow work (boxing)

NOVICE NON PRO REIN/BOX: lifetime total earnings of $0-$500 herd/rein (NRCHA pattern)/ limited cow work (boxing)

NOVICE NON PRO: lifetime total earnings of 0-$500; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

INTERMEDIATE NON PRO: lifetime total earnings of $501-$2500; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

LIMITED NON PRO: lifetime total earnings of $2501-$5000; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

NON PRO RIDER: lifetime total earnings of $5001 or more; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

3 YEAR OLD SNAFFLE BIT HORSE: any level rider; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

SNAFFLE BIT / HACKAMORE (Junior Horse 4 & 5 years old): any level rider; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

BRIDLE HORSE: any horse 3 yrs old or more ridden one handed in regulation bridle /romal; with optional Two Rein equipment allowed as follows: for one show season only, in Two Rein Equipment as follows: NRCHA regulation Two-Rein equipment will be allowed at SRCHA Jackpot Shows with not more than a total of $1500. added per day; with the rider to use one hand on the reins, any number of fingers between the reins permitted; for horses that have not been previously shown in a bridle down the fence in any judged classes: any level rider; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

 
* All riders MUST be SRCHA members at time of competition

* A rider stays in his / her division for an entire show season, even if they earn monies that will move them into the next division in the following year
